The University of Hertfordshire was founded in 1952 as a technical college connected to the De Havilland aircraft company near Hatfield. 70 years of evolution, from a technical college to university, has seen the university grow to over 30,000 students across three campuses. Thanks to its industrial heritage, it specialises in engineering and sciences. Being the only university in the county, it is committed to partnership working with local authorities and other education providers on upskilling, business support, and research projects.
