The 2023 UK Vitality Index has ranked Hemel Hempstead 3rd out of 100 for business and economy, 5th for environment, marking it out as an outstanding place to live and do business… and the Top 10’s highest riser!
The annual health assessment of the UK’s largest towns and cities outside London, undertaken by property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), identifies where are the best places to live and do business, along with the greatest potential for future opportunities.
Each area is ranked on the vitality of three pillars:
Economy and business – including wage growth, workforce jobs growth in specific sectors, new enterprises and business density.
Living – including education, lifestyle, GCSE results and NVQ4+ attainment.
Health and environment – including life satisfaction, recycling rates and green space.
Notably, the LSH report points out that, “Hemel Hempstead is one of the two biggest movers up the ranking in the Top 10, powered by strong improvements in the Economy & Business indicators. This provides evidence that changes in work-life patterns caused by the pandemic have delivered an economic boon to satellite towns.” The report shows that Hemel Hempstead has the highest green space per capita which is a key draw to people wanting to live and do business in Hemel Hempstead #LifeIsGreener #ThinkHemel
