October 2022 Hemel Place Board

News | 18 October

On Thursday 06 October the Hemel Place Board met at West Herts College for the October Hemel Place Board meeting.

It was a great session where the board discussed how the college and other partners can work together to develop highly effective collaborations between employers, colleges and community organizations in order to strategically meet local skills needs now and in the future.

During the meeting, Phillipa Zieba, Hemel Garden Communities (HGC) Programme Director, also provided an update on the HGC ambitious project for Hemel. The HGC programme aims to create up to 11,000 homes and 10,000 jobs by 2050 establishing new communities that are integrated into the wider town with neighbourhood centres and plenty of green space. Through the HGC programme, the whole Hemel will be transformed to become a more sustainable, inclusive and innovative town.

Thank you to all the attendees for your brilliant ideas and suggestions. A special thank you to West Herts College for hosting the event in their beautiful building in Hemel.
